Bir Church, Iceland - Canon 5d w/Sigma 35mm

This simple and beautiful church sits on the southern edge of the Snaefellsnes peninsula in west Iceland. The area is no longer a parish, having been abolished in the early 19th century at which time the church was ordered dismantled. After a long campaign by a local woman the church was rebuilt and stands today in almost total isolation save for a hotel nearby.
