More Umbrellas - Canon 5d w/20mm

I know I've posted a lot of shots of these umbrellas in HTo park along the lake shore, but I do find them interesting, it's a slightly surreal sight but now firmly part of the waterfront.

It makes sense to provide shade in such a place, but.. I have to confess I would not like our sunny beaches to have permanent fixtures.

This, empty, looks like a deserted shopping mall. Our beaches, empty, look like...empty beaches! And few things are more relaxing than a wide open, empty beach.

Bluestockings, if you have real beaches I agree, but this is all we have downtown!

Here's a shot of the park in context http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2c/Hto_Park_and_Urban_Beach_Skyline.jpg

    Oh! In context, indeed!

Nothing beachy about that landscape, quite distinctly urban. And here I was imagining our coastline (seriously beachy) dotted with yellow umbrellas. (blush)

My apologies for thinking dreadful things about your beach management =)

Thank you for helping me discover more about Toronto with your photographs. I like this beach shot. The chairs chained together looking out at the water made me think of marriage. Two older folks who have been married a long time. lol
