a mighty fine shot, even though I dont have much regard for the messages that these guys advertise, I do admire their determination. I really like this

Stunning! So much storytelling in just one picture.
Please please tell us how you did this....did you ask the guy to stand still....what were your exposure settings?
Sorry if i appear rude, but im a big fan of your work and normally wouldn't dream of asking you to show us the secret of your magic but i just couldn't resist this time.
I didn't have to ask him to stand still. I took the shot because I noticed how still he was while everyone swirled around him. It's one of those shots that I've always wanted to capture so I'm on the look out for opportunities.
The exposure was 1/2 sec at f/7.1, just enough to get the blur of the people but still be able to hand hold it. I took a sequence of shots in continuous mode, partly so I would have a better chance of no one being in front of him but also because I find shooting a sequence keeps my hand steadier.
I agree with shoot a sequence, I notice I usually pick my 2nd or 3rd photo because it just seems sharper for some reason. Great photo, puts so much focus on the subject.

Fantastic shot! He is really the center of attention here, maybe because he IS the way...
Did you ask him to stand still?

Sometimes when passing this intersection, I simply pause and soak up all the frenetic zaniness.
This capture is one of the few I've seen that brings home the sensation of standing there in person.
V'ry Cool.

Brilliant B&W shot Miles. Great tip on shooting the sequence for these types of shots, too.
