This is a lovely shot Miles, it has a great lead into the frame and the buildings look stunning, but for me it's more a record shot..

Great one, Miles. Very sharp and clear. What tool do you use to straighten you shots?

Nice lines to lead you right to the tower. CN rail would like this shot behind reception I am sure.

WOW, Its a great shot of TO, I love the location you found.
The sky is so perfect was it touched up?

  • Albedo

This shot is so perfect that it almost looks like a model or a rendering ! How did you achieve such an effect ?

    Thanks everyone!

Thukai, I didn't have to straighten the image at all. The shot was taken at 17mm on a 20d, so about 25mm, not really wide enough to create much distortion. I was quite high up on a bridge, well relatively.

Darkzule, I did use a polariser on the camera and some of the sky gradient comes from that. I added a touch more depth to the sky with a duplicate multiply layer set to about 20% opacity and with a layer mask.

Albedo, in the original image the bottom area of the sky and the buildings had a reddish cast to it which I removed (not entirely) using a curves adjustment layer. I liked the starkness of the that and I think that is what makes it look like a rendering, perhaps.
