In the Rain - canon 20d w/85mm

There was a summer storm in Toronto a few days ago that was accompanied by a torrential downpour, I snapped this out of my window.

WOW! Those rain drops are caught perfectly! Excellent shot, I love the blurred focus.

Great shot, mute!! Love the angle and the coposition!! I guess a "through window" shot is cool since the reflections and stain of water droplets created a style. Brilliant!

Nice black image. Unusual. Looks like autumn.

Thanks, this was actually taken through an open window, all the little drops you see are rain in mid air :)

I've just been trying to capture rain out of my window to no avail, so I can appreciate this one :)

Wow, this is great....the mood, the blurred figure on the street, the rain drops captured mid-air.....lovely! What shutter speed did you use?

I was trying to do this today as it rained. Unfortunately, I live out in the country and no one was walking around AND there is no pavement so all you see is brown puddles with water hitting them. Blech. But, you've given me the incentive to try, try again. :-)

Awesome shot. I really like the girl walking by.

This one made me stop and look a few times. I really like the effect through all that rain, its caused a nice distortion on the walker below.

I LOVE the mood and your decision to blur the person in lieu of the drops. Nice work.

Excellent shot. The black and white, the depth of field and the individual rain drops all work well together. Wish we got storms like that in England.

Moody image with good lighting and shadow. the white of her bare legs catch the eye and give you an idea of the season.

I wish I could 'snap' shots like this, truly beautiful.
Totally agree with other comments, it does look cinematic, if only she was wearing roller skates...

I like the DoF, and how th person isnt sharp in the shot...the rain in. The b/w adds alot too it, very nice composition.

wow, i love this shot! cool how the person is in light and everything else seems dark.

I love the composition, the effect of the drops and the silhouette with the unbrella. For the position it could be said that he was running. I like very very much this picture.

Wonderful ! For a couple of weeks I looked for taking a picture of the rainy weather in Montreal. I didn't find it. This one is perfect, I would have been very proud to take this one.
Thanks for your comment on my blog.

Nice shot. I like how the focus light is on the person, yet the rain drops are everywhere. It's funny that it was in the summer, because to me, it's as if it was one of those warm winter shots, with the slush of snow/sleet, but nothing sticking and someone just trying to get home. Great work!

Great image. Did you need to flash to get the flakes/drops to light up like that? I'll try it during the next typhoon!

I don't know what to write that hasn't already been written here. That said, it still feels as if though one word is missing: Mesmerizing.
