love this.. great composition, heavy contrast suits this perfectly. even better large!
I love this Miles, great tones...
What is it about barbershops that make them such great photo subjects? Maybe their timeless nature? Lovely shot, Miles.
great composition. loving it
What a great looking place. Love the contrast and comp!
This has a wonderful retro feel to it. I like the towels thrown over the chairs and how it makes the photograph feel warm - as if the people are just out of view.
That seems to be an old barbershop... Nice shot. i like the photo gallery on the walls.
Nice softness here... love the vintage feel.
Nice dreamy effect, good contrasting b&w.
I like this, Miles. I've been thinking of doing the same thing -- sort of a series of barbershops after hours. I love the little pictures and things they put around their mirrors. The countertop clutter. The old brushes and things. The black and white adds a nice touch.
Wow ! Great shot !
Love the composition, and the contrast really makes the feeling.
Is the narrow DOF intentional, or did you lack light ?
Brilliant. The best i've seen in ages (by anyone!)
Beautiful photo miles, it definitely speakw
This is the type of image that really gets me excited about photography. Just a true classic!
The focus on this is just superb. Thanks for the link btw Miles.
Lovin' the contrast miles
Nice image, Miles. Really pleasant lighting.
good one !
Really like this, such a great subject and its one that you don't see on many peoples sites, glad you shot it ;)
Thanks everyone. I took this while waiting for the barber to finish his lunch. I have to see if I can persuade him to be in the next pic!
I shot it at f1.8 because of the light but the Sigma 20mm seems to have some strange qualities sometimes. I have to take a look at it.
Great tones, great p.o.v., kind of 50s newspaper shot, only thing missing is a dead mafia guy in one of the chairs!
