Shot of the dayElectrosphere
Serenely sweet, Miles.
Very nice :-)
I would say it's a tulip...
Simple, beautiful and very calming.
W O N D E R F U L!
I guess simplicity rules sometimes. Very nicely isolated capture. Good job.
Oh thats nice.
Reduced to the max. Nice tones....and very intense....
A mysterious ans smart one.
Sweet and romantic. Great lighting.
very tender. excellent lighting.
Was this shot using a black/dark backdrop, or it is 'cut' out and placed on a black canvas in PS?
was this edited? looks cool
Thanks all, I appreciate the comments.
This flower was picked out by natural light against a dark background. I used a multiply layer to burn out the background detail and leave the flower as the only visible element. So there's no cutting out anything but it wasn't a set up shot either.
It was actually shot outside in a dark corner in the grounds of Osgoode Hall in Toronto.
Beautiful B&W! You're title made me smile because I too like to take shots of flowers but hardly ever know their names :-)
I like how it seems to emerge from the shadow.
Great light and background. Perfect in b&w!
That is quite surprising it was shot outside...and not a setup. Perfect excecution in both the original shot and processing.
Absolutely stunning !
The is sooo sweet... :D
So moody and beautiful. The soft composition with the dark slight taking over the flower does it for me.
Great composition - Processing is great!
great work with dropping the background out ;) really looks like a flash and studio jobby
wonderful textures too, although I find the water specs a bit of a cliche
Another beautiful image.
Miles, This is a stunning work of art! I really enjoy these types of images!
Miles -- This is positively top-notch. The post-processing is masterful.
that's a beauty Miles.
Great work on the light
great b/w ..nice also the original.. great details revealed in b/w
It grows in the dark. Exceptional effect.
Stunning photo miles.
Well done. A careful conversion to B&W really can transform an image. I like a lot how it emerges slowly from the darkness.
