Wow, the corner vignetting is a nice touch here. The muted colors and those curved buildings are really cool looking. Almost has an "artist's rendering" feel to it. Yep, the bird and fountain are a nice bonus to the shot! :-)
Wow ! Amazing !
Love the colors... this sky is incredible !
Love the composition with the fountain and the bird, too... I'm wondering how you're getting the city hall to stand out like this.
what?!?!? Dude, come on. This is too good to be true, how'd you do it? : )

Thanks everyone :)
This was an exercise for me, trying to capture a common subject in a way that looks 'illustrative'. I waited a while and took a few shots before I got the bird in the scene in a nice place.
Two curves adjustment layers were all that were needed for the colour treatment and beyond that I used a duplicate layer set to 'multiply' to create the vignetting.
Great image that really grabs the eye. I'm tor on the building halo; it's cool in one respect, but I think it would have been just as strong without the glow.
I like the isolation-- for such a pretty day the fountain area is empty of people: just you and the bird.
A stunning shot withe the bird frozen in time. The vignette frame the picture really well. Thank you for the "Shot of the day", I appreciate it very much.
Fabulous timing here! You know, every time I see this building in a photograph, time feels skewed. I find it, strangely, a timeless building, showing a mix of modern and old... Probably only cause I'm not seeing it from up close. I get the sense the feeling there is similar to the "Big-O" in Montreal - nice from far, but far from nice. ;)

So, now I have to ask, on the heels of viewing your alley shot manipulation... was the bird in the original shot or photoshopped in later for effect?

ya I like the shot except for the halo- too fake.
