Nice sequence -- the first one is great.
I often think that seagulls are basically rats with wings. At least in the cities, they are.

Great detail and action: it's cool how you captured the bread in mid-flight. Nice depth of blue in the sky gives a good contrast to the white birds.

Personally I am not a big fan of gull unless its name is Jonathan Livingston. Just because they become scarvagers in urban area—Sydney where I live, to be specific, that doesn't mean should they stop hunting. BTW, good capture tho.

stunning shots, the detaill, contrast and saturation in all of them is very sweet.

The first has to be my favourite, although it does look a little like the birds have been pasted onto that one?

Some of the better sealgull pics I have seen from around the photoblogworld..... I like the surreal look of these photos. I saw photos like your photo of the day site on the cbcradio3 blog a month or so back. They were a little more twisted images though.

Thanks all, spring is here, well that's what it feels like today!

James, none of these have been pasted on :) The light was really low and reflecting up so the birds were really picked out. If I could do anything to that pic I'd clone out the pier on the left.

Pierre, excellent shots! I was using my 17-40 for these, I should go back with something longer and get more action shots.

great series Miles....I'll fly in the face of the others if you pardon the pun! I like the birds on their own...they make a lovely series...I guess the first one does put it in context.

err other than a bracketed exposure i cannot think of any way to produce the kind of lighting you did on the birds...but they are BIRDS so it's unlikely they will stay still enough for it...in mid air. IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL GOOD LORD O____O
