Tree - canon 20d w/20mm

I felt like some colour was needed and the sigma 20mm produces a very contrasty saturated image. There's the original crop here, I prefer it but wanted to post a larger image today, splash the colour about.

After the horrendous events following Hurricane Katrina I encourage you to donate if you can. Brandon Stone, of photoblogs.org fame, has set up the I'm OK registry, if you're looking for someone, or think people might be looking for you please register with this site and spread this URL around.

excellent work. However i prefer a bit more the original crop, which has a stunning sky.

I agree with you, the original crop is better because it has that nice, dark sky at the top. But this one is cool too. I like the texture in the grass.

I've got as much of a soft spot for a good sky as the next cloud junkie, but I prefer the crop despite the loss of vertical space. The crop gives the tree much more presence in the frame and sill affords us a substantial smack of color goodness.

Stunning color! If the original crop was not in portrait format it would be the perfect wallpaper ;-)

I love it (the cropped version), it reminds me of one I took last April (http://www.eightyfour.net/mt/archives/pixelprints/000251.php)

Nice shot. Did you use the ND Grad filter in this shot?

I am on the "original crop" party, this time. The vertical format gives breadth to the image. It shows the tree as if it was at the bottom of a bowl with the tall sky above.

I prefer this photo. the crop emphasizes the tree more.

nice simple style to this one. I like this crop because it focuses on the tree more than the sky, but they're both great.
