    2005-08-31

  • Andy

The DoF really makes the shot. Very cool.

    2005-08-31

  • f.d. rahman

I love this shot.. very nicely captured.

    2005-08-31

  • zac

a gloomy day to be at the amusement park. very cool shot!

    2005-08-31

  • Andrew

Awesome. Looks fake, but in the *good* sense.

    2005-08-31

  • Dave

Wow. The DOF kills here. It looks almost cartoonish with the high contrast. I love it.

    2005-08-31

  • Sidney

Funny. Nice capture. Like the overal feel of the picture !

    2005-08-31

  • Derrick

Whoa, that's trippy. Was this photo altered at all? Doesn't look real at all (no offense if it is).

    2005-08-31

  • sAm

Woah, this looks mad. The sense of scale given here through your manipulation (I am assuming it is manipulated) makes it look like a toy set. I have noticed the toy set effect before with the basketball court. Anyway I'm liking this and your previous Hitchcock replica shots...

  • darkchild

    that's coooool..wonderful rainy day!!

    2005-09-01

  • Warren

Wow, a corn dog stand of ill portent. Great mood and DOF.

    2005-09-01

  • Jordan

Aha, great use of this technique. You've really got to get yourself a Speed Graphic.

    2005-09-01

  • miles

hehe, thanks all! It is photoshopped to give the extra depth of field effect like the previous ones.

    2005-09-01

  • John [shots]

Cool Miles - I have a similar photo that I might at somestage do something with

    2005-09-01

  • Lorraine Daley

i adore this. the surrealism is so perfect for the mood of the carrnival. fantastic post work as well.

    2005-09-01

  • mel

along with the surrealism, I like how those 3 people seem a little misplaced... a man dressed up at a carnival and and the other two are alone. Cool shot.

    2005-09-01

  • kayjay

I wonder what Aperture you used on your camera :)
so I can fingure out how much you shopped it.

btw... the DOF rocks, it's gorgious

    2005-09-01

  • jacek

hmm the 'fake dof' is too strong imho but it makes cool/weird mood. so after all i ilke it:)

    2005-09-01

  • Sean Galbraith

I love the miniature technique... though, I have no idea how to achieve it myself (do share!). Fantastic photo to use it on, and to great effect!

    2005-09-01

  • fredrik

wow, nice ps work miles! it pops out at me;)

    2005-09-01

  • ctranter

I'll be honest. Whilst I usually love these shops. this one just looks a little too surreal. Its that little girl on the left I think. It just doesnt feel quite right. Lovely colours in the rainly atmosphere though. :)

    2005-09-01

  • miles

Thanks all, these shots really aren't supposed to look realistic, it's a play on reality :)

    2005-09-01

  • Lois Campbell

Kinda Japanesey feeling to this, I think it's the rain and the banners over the stand, like the one warriors carry in Kurosawa films.
Sinister, too. Nice to have a picture the viewer can find so much to take out of.

    2005-09-01

  • rw

Looks like I need a Photoshop how-to book. Sweet look you have achieved.

    2005-09-01

  • Chris

    Awesome image, Miles!

    2005-09-01

    2005-09-01

  • Craig

I like the juxtaposition of colors.

    2005-09-01

  • rob

Like so many have said: Cool. I don't know what you did to get that effect but it is whacky cool.

    2005-09-01

  • Leo

Inventive post processing. The selective blurring and such makes it an interesting picture.

    2005-09-02

  • Kaarel

this is one crazy shot. like it. but what did u do to make look very minimal.

    2005-09-02

    2005-09-02

  • Jordan

Wow...this looks like a music video of cardboard cutouts. Fabulous work with the depth of field and accenting the hot dog stand. This is a really interesting and fun image to look at!

    2005-09-02

  • maria

    perfect perfect miles. :)

    2005-09-02

    2005-09-04

    2005-09-05

    2005-09-19

  • clea

I can't stop coming back to this particular shot. It's amazing. Don't know what makes me want to stare at it, but it's certainly magnetic.

    2005-09-19

  • Ed

Wow. Nice DOF. Everything that's in focus is very sharp.

    2005-09-20

  • dawn

awesome shot. the DOF is unreal. it's almost like slow motion or something. very cool!

    2005-09-21

  • mox

it looks like a fake place!!
you edited the focus, don't you??

    2005-09-25
