The isolation of subject you have achieved in the top shot with the shallow dof is extremely effective. I always love the canvas of a blurred crowd. Great shot, Miles.
Miles, these shots are real winners. You have a knack for shooting these public events, especially with kids. Have you ever tried taking portraits of children?
Thanks all, this guy was so funny at the parade, he just had to jump up and down and everyone was laughing.
Michael, I have no idea how you would figure out which camera is intrinsically sharper than the other because so much depends on the lens you use. The canon has better resolution but in reality I doubt there's much, if any actually difference between the two cameras that wouldn't be overwhelmed by your lens choice.

Love the expressions. When i was a kid that gingerbread man would of probably scared the crap out of me.

I'd love to know what settings you used on these two. The girl and gingerbread man just pop off the screen. It's great.

The clarity is really amazing on these. And I was just reading a review that said the 20D wasn't quite as sharp as the D70. Ha!

Nice how you isolated the kid from the crowd: there is only him with his happy expression that kids have when they are playing in their own world.

The fact that you cut off the gingerbread guy's head makes him look all the more massive. These are really adorable.

That's hilarious! I don't get how a gingerbread man has anything to do ith St. Patrick' day though. Reminds me of the scene in Shrek.
