What exactly have you done? Is it a picture of a view finder by any chance? I love the "quality" these images have the circular "grain" effect and the vingetting is superb.
Likewise! I mean I've seen John do some rangefinder shots before with lines such as these. Is that what you've done here Miles?
I love the effect! Perhaps I'll have to give it a go with my Lubitel 2.

heh, yeah sorry, these are shots taken with my digital of the waistlevel view finder in my twin lens rolleicord. I always love what I see through there :)
I agree. Sometimes what you see on the glass is better (at least in a different way) than the end product. And it's a nice way to get an otherwise unattainable aesthetic with digital right off the card.
This is great... the circular image and colors work perfectly. I've done this before with a telescope, (reversed) which does some pretty cool things, but not with a rangefinder before

thanks, this is a TLR (twin lens reflex) camera, one of those old style box cameras with a separate viewing and taking lens.
Walker: I saw that photo and even commented on it but didn't realise that was a shot thru the viewfinder, it's much cleaner than mine! I thought the use of a magnifying glass as a lens was totally 'Heath Robinson'!
I took these views with the camera itself as well, maybe I'll be able to put up a gallery with the shots side by side. Tomorrow I'll post a portrait I took this way.
Hmm, interesting idea! I just got hold of my grandfather's old twin lens rolleicord, but haven't had a chance to take it out yet. I'll have to give this a try!

I did the same with my 4x5 a few months ago: http://www.beyondmonochrome.com/archives/000422.php

Very cool shots, Miles -- I really like them -- saves on developing costs, too! ...
