Somewhere between Summer and Fall, the carnival lures the photographer into the twilight....

What a beautifully contrasted sky to use as a backdrop for a such a cool looking ride.

Yeeessssss!! Starship 400, sweet photo. I just love the colours and their saturation. Timing is also great - not too long not too short exposure. Another great photo! Thanks.

Nice shot. I put your RSS feed into my Google desktop app, that's how I found this pic.

On the subject of the fair, does anyone really trust rides that local fly-by-night carnies assemble? I don't :)

Fantastic. And against that broody sky it makes it all the better.

I love this series too. Is there much postprocessing involved in this particular shot?

    2005-09-19

  • Thanks all, there was some post-processing, mainly curves and blending, but I'm not an organised photoshopper so I can't tell you exactly what I did!

  • jyoseph

Brilliant saturation. Your post work is always the best. Well done, mate.

  • rcox

It even captures the movement of the ride. I'm a half-hazard photoshopper myself, so I know exactly what you mean. Too bad Photoshop can't save your history file for export...
